Palestinian Arrested for Throwing Rocks at Light Rail in Jerusalem

A 15-year-old Palestinian from the Shuafat neighborhood in Jerusalem has been arrested after he threw rocks at the city’s light rail train.

The rocks caused no injuries, but damage was caused to the train.

Defense Minister Yaalon to Hamas: Do Not Continue To Test Us

Against the backdrop of mortar shells fired from Gaza in the direction of IDF forces last week, Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon issued a warning to the Hamas terrorist group that controls the Gaza Strip not to inflame or escalate tensions with Israel.

“The IDF and various security forces will respond aggressively to any firing from the Gaza Strip,” stressed Yaalon. “If the firing continues, it will lead us to respond even harder against Hamas and the other terrorist organizations in Gaza until they realize that it’s not worth it for them to challenge us.”

Terror Attack Thwarted in Eastern Jerusalem

IDF military police officers thwarted a terror attack on Monday afternoon in eastern Jerusalem after finding a knife in the belongings of a Palestinian woman. The woman was arrested and taken in for questioning.

MK Miki Zohar: “We Must Mark Victory Over Nazis For Future Generations”

Likud MK Miki Zohar released a celebratory message this morning, to the many emigrants from the former Soviet Union engaged in Victory Day festivites today. Victory Day, which commemroates the Allies’ victory over Nazi Germany in World War II, is celebrated by Russia on May 9.

“Victory Day over Nazi Germany celebrates the contribution of a million and a half Jews who fought in World War II in the Allied armies and partisan units, including a half a million Jews who fought in the Red Army of Soviet Russia,” said MK Zohar.

“We should not forget that Jewish combat was a key part of the victory of the Allies with hundreds of thousands of Jews having taken part in the Allied armies and the Red Army, and many of them received medals for bravery,” continued MK Zohar. “We must remember and mark it for future generations.”

Haifa District Court Indicts Suspect Accused of Murder and Rape

An indictment of two counts of murder and arson and one count of rape was filed today in Haifa’s District Court against Feodor Bizanri, a resident of the city. Bizanri is accused of raping and then burning a woman in her apartment in Haifa in the summer of 2013 as well as burning a woman in the city of Ashdod on March 7 of this year.

The prosecution is attempting to extend Bizanri’s detention until the end of court proceedings.
