Women of the Wall Conduct “Priestly Blessing” Ceremony at Western Wall

The Women of the Wall organization reportedly conducted a “priestly blessing” ceremony this morning at the Western Wall, during their monthly prayer service at the site on the beginning of each Hebrew month. The ceremony is traditionally performed by males with patrilineal descent to the Bibilical High Priest Aaron.

The body of Mohammad Nimer was returned to his family Monday night in eastern Jerusalem. Nimer, 37, initiated a stabbing attack on Nov. 10.

Miri Regev: Deputy Chief of Staff Yair Golan Should Resign

Israeli Interior Minister Miri Regev has called on the IDF Deputy Chief of Staff Yair Golan to resign, following his remarks on the Holocaust Remembrance day comparing Israeli society to that of Nazi Germany.

“It is unthinkable that the deputy chief of staff takes part in the delegitimization against Israel, and makes statement harming Israel during an official speech,” said Regev. “He has crossed the line and should resign.”

Netanyahu: Deputy Chief of Staff’s Remarks on Holocaust Remembrance Day “Infuriating”

Prime Minister Netanyahu charged IDF Deputy Chief of Staff Yair Golan for having made “infuriating” and “baseless” remarks that “caused injustice to Israeli society” and “cheapened the Holocaust.” at the annual Holocaust Remembrance Ceremony at Jerusalem’s Yad Vashem Holocaust museum this past Wednesday evening.

During his address at the ceremony, Golan said that “it’s scary to see horrifying developments that took place in Europe begin to unfold here…If there is one thing that is scary in remembering the Holocaust, it is noticing horrific processes which developed in Europe – particularly in Germany – 70, 80, and 90 years ago, and finding remnants of that here among us in the year 2016.”
