Condition Improves For Injured Victims of Jerusalem Bus Bombing

Two victims from this past week’s Jerusalem bus bombing are still being treated at Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek hospital. The two victims are said to be experiencing a successful recovery and are presently in good condition.

Deputy Minister Hotovely Gives Birth to Second Child

MK Tzipi Hotovely, deputy Foreign Minister and acting head of the ministry of foreign affairs, gave birth today to a girl.

The happy parents named their newborn Eliraz. Eliraz is Hotovely’s second child. The deputy minister’s first child, also a daughter named Maayan, was also born while Hotovely was in office in 2014.

5 Jews Arrested on Temple Mount for Prayer

The Jerusalem District Police spokesperson announced on Sunday that since the beginning of the day five Jewish visitors have been arrested during their visit to the Temple Mount compound in Jerusalem.

According to the spokesperson, the five were men, four of whom were minors, were escorted out of the Temple Mount and detained by the Israel Police for “disobeying the visitation rules.”

The visitors were reportedly praying during their tour of the Temple Mount compound, an activity which is strictly prohibited to Jews.

 

 

Police: Jerusalem Bus Bomber Dead, Other Arrests Made

The Hamas operative who exploded a bomb on a Jerusalem bus this week has died in an Israeli hospital, the Israeli police confirmed on Thursday, partially lifting a gag order on the investigation.

Abdel Hamid Abu Srour, a 19-year-old Hamas operative from the Palestinian town of Beit Jala near Bethlehem, detonated an explosive on the number 12 public bus in Jerusalem on Monday, injuring 20 people, one seriously. Abu Srour died of his wounds on Wednesday in Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.

The Police and Shin Bet (Israeli Security Agency) conducted extensive raids in Bethlehem on Tuesday, arresting multiple Hamas activists who are suspected of helping Abu Srour plan and carry out the terror attack.

Further details of the investigation remain under a gag order.

Netanyahu to Putin: The Golan Heights are a “Red Line” for Israel

During a meeting this afternoon in Moscow with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Netanyahu said that “the Golan Heights is a red line for Israel.” Netanyahu reiterated on the point by stating that the Golan Heights “must remain a part of Israel.”

Today’s meeting between Netanyahu and Putin, the third conducted between both leaders in the past six months, took place against the backdrop of recent reports suggesting that an Israeli relinquishment of the Golan Heights to Syria was considered by the international community as part of an overall peace agreement to the civil war in Syria.
