IDF Arrests 17 Terror Suspects Overnight, Discovers Pistol near Hebron

Police and IDF forces arrested 17 terror suspects overnight in Judea and Samaria, including two members of Hamas. Most of the Palestinians arrested, 15 of them, are suspected of participating in violent riots and actions such as rock-throwing at civilians and at security forces. The arrested suspects have been taken for interrogation.

Additionally, a pistol was discovered overnight in an apartment in the village of Rabud near Hebron.

 

Two Knife-Wielding Palestinian Women Caught at Entrance to Jerusalem

Two Palestinian women from the town of Abu Dis were arrested after attempting to enter Jerusalem while carrying two knives.

An initial police interrogation revealed that the two women, aged 24 and 29, intended to commit a terror attack.

David Keyes Appointed as Netanyahu’s Foreign Media Spokesperson

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that the new foreign media spokesperson of the Prime Minister’s Office is 32-year-old David Keyes. Keyes will replace Mark Regev who has been appointed as Israel’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom.

Keyes has a bachelors degree in Middle-Eastern studies from UCLA and a masters degree in diplomacy from Tel Aviv University. He was born in Los Angeles and moved to Israel at age 23 with his family. He served in the IDF in external relations, and most recently served as founder and CEO of a human rights group in New York.

Minister Bennett: Israel Sociological Society Boycott of Ariel Must Be Stopped

The office of Education Minister Naftali Bennett strongly criticized the Israel Sociological Society’s decision to boycott Ariel University, located in central Samaria.

“The education minister views the boycott itself with great difficulty,” the office said in a released statement.

“The boycott is not education. It is the opposite of education,” the statement continued.  “The boycott is not pluralism, it is the opposite of pluralism, and will be treated accordingly.”

Minister Bennett has turned to the Council for Higher Education (CHE) to take necessary measures to prevent such a boycott.

Hit-and-Run Attacks Near Hebron, Two Wounded

Palestinian terrorists conducted two hit-and-run attacks near Hebron Monday morning, March 14, wounding two Israelis. The first attack took place at the Elias Junction near the entrance to the town of Kiryat Arba in the early morning hours. One Israeli was lightly wounded and received medical attention at the scene, a Magen David Adom spokesperson in Jerusalem said. Two terrorists were neutralized.

Another hit-and-run attack at the junction was reported shortly afterwards. One Israeli was reported lightly wounded in the attack, and the terrorist neutralized.
