Assailants attempted to stab IDF soldiers at a checkpoint between Zawiya and Elkana in central Samaria on Wednesday morning, March 9.

IDF forces at the scene shot and killed the terrorist, with no further casualties in the incident.

A car-ramming attempt has been reported on a road leading to the Damascus Gate near Jerusalem’s Old City.

Security forces identified two terrorists, who were subsequently shot and killed.

A civilian driver was seriously wounded in the crossfire. Police have started an investigation of the incident.

Passengers on a bus reported hearing gunshots in their direction near Ramot Junction in northern Jerusalem.

While no one was hit by the gunfire, three were lightly wounded in the commotion that erupted, which also led to several shock victims. Both the wounded and the shock victims have been transferred to Shaare Zedek hospital.

Police forces are investigating the source of the gunfire and suspect that the incident was a drive-by shooting. Roadblocks have been placed to search for the perpetrator, with heavy traffic reported at all checkpoints and roads surrounding Jerusalem.

The Jerusalem Police Spokesperson has just confirmed first reports of a suspected shooting attack on Salah Al-Din street, near the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem.

According to initial reports from the scene, unknown assailants opened fire at a police patrol near the Damascus Gate, at least one person is reported as being hit by the fire.

Shortly before 5PM Israeli Police and Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics received an emergency call about an alleged fight between two adult men in the city of Petach Tikva.

According to Azriel Gross, a senior MDA Paramedic, a Jewish Orthodox man in his 40’s was sitting on the ground after having sustained several stab wounds to his upper body.

“We immediately administered medical treatment on the scene before evacuating him by ambulance to a nearby hospital. Next to him on the ground was a young man in his 20’s lying unconscious,” said Gross.

According to an Israeli police spokesperson, police officers arriving on the scene opened fire on the armed attacker and killed him.

Several eyewitnesses at the scene have claimed that the stabbing occurred during an altercation and a heated exchange of words between the two men.

The Police are still investigating the incident and it is still uncertain at this point if it was an act of terrorism or a random act of violence.
