Local Council Chairman Suspected of Shooting and Killing a Man who Attacked Him

Salman Amar, Chairman of the Julis Local Council in the Galilee, is suspected of shooting and killing a man who attacked him on Monday morning.

Eyewitnesses said that 45-year-old Munir Nabwani had attacked Amar with a club or an ax, and that he had attempted to attack him in the past as well. Amar responded by drawing his handgun and shooting him.

Police said the shooting occurred at the council plaza in the Druze community, and that they have initiated an investigation. Magen David Adom said that paramedics attempted to resuscitate Nabwani, but eventually pronounced him dead at the scene.

UPDATE: Salman Amar turned himself in to local police at 11:47.

 

Gaza Resident Indicted for Dealing with Hamas’ Military Wing

South District Attorney filed an indictment on Sunday, with the Be’er Sheva District Court against a Gaza based businessman for selling military equipment to the Hamas’ military wing, Izz ad-Din al-Qassam.

The businessman is accused of smuggling advanced scuba diving equipment into Gaza in violation of the partial blockade Israel hold over the Gaza Strip. Additionally, the man is accused of selling said equipment to the Hamas terrorist organization.

 

 

Two Palestinian Youths Detained in Hebron

Security forces have detained two 14 year old Palestinians carrying concealed knives at the entrance to the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron.  No injuries or property damage was reported.

IDF Arrests 3 Terror Suspects in Judea and Samaria

IDF forces arrested three Palestinian terror suspects overnight throughout Judea and Samaria, including one Hamas member. The two others are suspected of participating in violent riots directed at Israeli civilians and security forces. They have all been taken for questioning.

IDF Soldier Wounded During Jewish Prayer at Joseph’s Tomb

The IDF Spokesperson’ s Unit said that the IDF and police forces of Judea and Samaria were targeted by  Molotov cocktails and stones, along with rolling burning tires while escorting a nightly visit of 16 buses to Joseph’s tomb in Nablus. The security forces responded with riot control measures and the prayer was held as planned.

An IDF soldier was shot on the outskirts of the Balata refugee camp while he was securing the area adjacent to the tomb.  The soldier was evacuated to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva and his condition is now stable. Circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

The Spokesperson’s Unit also announced the IDF forces in Judea and Samaria arrested six wanted Hamas activists, all taken in for questioning by the security forces.
