Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Israel will send firefighting aircraft to help battle the massive fire raging in Paphos, Cyprus.

Former Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon, who decided to resign his Knesset seat following his removal from his ministerial post, announced at the 2016 Herzliya Conference today that he intends to run for Prime Minister in the next election cycle.

Jordan’s Ambassador to Israel Walid Obeidat expressed strong support for the Arab Peace Initiative launched by Saudi Arabia in 2002, at the 2016 Herzlia Conference. “In our opinion, the Arab peace initiative stands as the master of all initiatives,” Ambassador Obeidat said.

“The French uinitiative deserves all our support as well.”

Speaking before him, the Egyptian Ambassador Hazem Khairat also expressed support for the French Peace Initiative.

The remarks from both ambassadors were made against the backdrop of recent discussions and consideration from both Israeli officials and Arab heads of state to relaunch the Arab Peace Initiative.

Interior Minister Aryeh Deri prohibited the exit of two, Mesabeh Abu Sabih and Mohammed Yassin Sabah Yassin, fearing their travels to nearby Jordan involve meeting with terrorists and the promotion of violence in Jerusalem.

The two are blocked from travelling for the next month, though the petition will be examined for a six-month extension.

Former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger said that “Iran runs its foreign policy on two channels: as a legitimate state and as a jihadist revolutionary one,” at the 2016 Herzliya Conference.
