Palestinian Minor Arrested for Throwing Rocks at Policemen
Israeli policemen and border policemen arrested a Palestinian minor in the a-Tur neighborhood in Jerusalem after he throwed rocks in their direction, the police said.
There were no casualties and no damage in the incident. The Palestinian was taken for questioning.
Central Suspect Convicted of Kidnapping and Murdering Muhammad Abu Khdeir
The Jerusalem District Court convicted Yosef Chaim Ben David on Tuesday morning of kidnapping and murdering Palestinian teenager Muhammad Abu Khdeir in 2014.
Ben David, 29 years old from the community of Adam, was the central suspect of committing the murder, and his verdict was delayed to determine his mental state.
His two nephews, 16 and 17 years old, were convicted in January of helping commit the murder. One received a life sentence, while the other minor was sentenced to 21 years in prison after the court ruled that he played a smaller part in the murder.
12 Victims of Jerusalem Bus Attack Still in Hospital, One in Unstable Condition
Twelve Israelis wounded in Monday’s bus terrorist attack are still hospitalized in Jerusalem medical centers, one of whom is seriously wounded with danger to his life.
Six victims are at Shaare Zedek hospital. One man suffered serious combined burns and limb injuries and is still anesthetized and under artificial respiration in unstable condition. Two others are in moderate and stable condition after undergoing surgery, and three people are lightly wounded.
At Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital, four victims are in moderate to serious condition, while two others are in light condition.
Jordan Abandons Plans to Install Security Cameras on Temple Mount
Jordanian Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour recently stated that Jordan would be abandoning its plan to install security cameras on the Temple Mount.
The announcement was made against the backdrop of threats from many Palestinians to destroy the security cameras following their installation.
Although the security cameras were to be installed in order as a prevention measure of “recurring assaults” on the Temple Mount such as prayer by Israeli Jews on the site, Palestinian objections centered around concerns that Israel would use the security cameras to investigate incidents of incitement.
Explosion on Jerusalem Bus; Circumstances Under Investigation
A bomb exploded on a Jerusalem bus on Monday, a police spokesperson said, injuring approximately a dozen people. The injured have been evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center.
The police have not yet determined whether the explosion was the result of a terror attack.
The explosion occured on the number 12 public bus on Moshe Bar’am St. Initial reports indicate that the bus was empty at the time of the explosion and passengers of a different bus were injured by the blast.
