Shooting Attack near Damascus Gate, Jerusalem

Jerusalem (TPS) –  Assailants opened fire on passers by between the Damascus Gate and the New Gate of Jerusalem’s old city, shortly before 10 pm on Sunday, February 14.

A nearby Police patrol returned fire, neutralizing two terrorists.

Stabbing Attack Thwarted at a Checkpost South of Jerusalem, Terrorist Neutralized

A Palestinian terrorist attempted to stab Israeli border policemen at a checkpost near the neighborhood of Har Homa in southern Jerusalem.

According to Police Spokesperson Asi Aharoni, during routine security checks a policeman spotted a suspect running towards the checkpost with a knife in his hand. One of the border policemen shot and neutralized him. The were no further casualties in the incident.

Suspected Stabbing Attack in Gush Etzion

17:15 – A stabbing attack has been reported near the community of Neve Daniel in Gush Etzion.

One victim is reported as moderately injured, and the stabber was seen fleeing towards the nearby Palestinian village of Nahalin.

Security and medical forces are on the scene.

 

Stabbings Prevented in Jerusalem and in Karmei Tzur

Two stabbing attacks by young Palestinian women were prevented on the morning of Tuesday, February 9.

A 13-year-old girl was caught with a knife at about 8:30 AM at the entrance to the Jewish community of Karmei Tzur in Judea. A resident of the community had told the security guard about a suspicious figure nearing the community, he stopped her, inspected her and discovered the knife in her bag.

She was subsequently arrested and taken for questioning.

Shortly after, a stabbing attack was attempted by a 16-year-old resident of Jerusalem at the Old City’s Damascus Gate. She attempted to stab border policemen who were inspecting her and was fended off and arrested. There were no casualties in the incident.

Israeli-Arab Woman Caught with a Knife in Jerusalem’s Old City

Israel Police and Border Police forces arrested a 42-year-old Israeli Arab woman at the Damascus Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem.

The woman, resident of the Old City, was caught around 4:30 PM with a big knife in her bag after her behavior raised the suspicion of security forces at the sensitive site. She was taken for a questioning at the police station.

Damascus Gate has been the site of many terror attacks in recent months. In the most recent incident, three Palestinians armed with knives, sub-machine guns and pipe bombs killed border policewoman Hadar Cohen and wounded two others before they were shot and killed.
