Rocket from Gaza Lands in Sderot, No Casualties

A red alert rocket alarm sounded at 10:20 a.m. in the city of Sderot and the communities of the Shaar HaNegev Regional Council.

The Israeli army and police confirmed that a single rocket was launched from Gaza and landed on a road in Sderot near a school, causing no casualties but damaging the road.

Several people suffered from shock and were treated by Magen David Adom.

Police forces and bomb disposal experts have sealed the area.

IDF Arrests 7 Terror Suspects in Judea and Samaria

IDF forces arrested seven terror suspects overnight in Judea and Samaria. Four of them were identified by the army as members of Hamas, and the rest are suspected of participating in riots directed at Israeli civilians and security forces. They have all been taken for questioning.

Abbas to Attend Peres’ Funeral

The President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmmoud Abbas has sent a request to the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu, and to General Yoav “Poli” Mordechai, commander of the Civil Administration in Judea and Samaria, requesting to be permitted to attend the funeral of former Prime Minister Shimon Peres.

The request is currently being processed by appropriate authorities.

Zionist Union MK Tzipi Livni commemorated Shimon Peres during an ongoing special faction meeting of the party in his honor.

“President Peres received the love and support in his last years, that he was denied because, or thanks to, his refusal to compromise on his beliefs,” stated Livni.

“He showed that security is only made possible by rightful policy and also proved that it is possible to win even after bitter losses. [ … ] His historic greatness was not recognized because he succeeded but because he tried.”

 

Police Detain 39 Terror Suspects in J’lem

Jerusalem Police have arrested 39 people suspected of rioting in eastern Jerusalem this week. In addition, police unearthed a trove of weapons during a search of local homes, including guns, ammunition, bullet proof vests, pyrotechnic equipment, knives and written material encouraging violence.
